Kern County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the Citizen Service Unit (CSU) of volunteers to conduct non-hazardous law-enforcement activities in our community. Volunteers wear a uniform, drive a police car & use a police radio. They provide another set of eyes and ears on the street, or free up a deputy’s time so they can do it.
CSU tasks include:
- Patrolling
- Administrative
- Special events
- Courier duties
- Document graffiti
- Vacation house checks
- Locating lost children
- Transporting equipment & documents between Mojave & Bakersfield
Volunteers must be a US Citizen, high school diploma/GED, no felony convictions, and pass extensive background check. Minimum commitment: 8 hours per month. Click here for an application. Please submit applications to Todd@MojaveFoundation.org or in person at the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
